What’s for Breakfast?

A peek at Jack and Charlie’s weekly menu—and the leafy green they both politely ignore.

A varied little menu

Breakfast is the most exciting event in the tank. Jack notices the food container first, but Charlie is usually the one who reaches the best bite.

Their placeholder weekly menu includes quality aquatic turtle pellets, appropriate leafy greens, and occasional treats selected for their species and age.

The best feeding plan is one made for your turtle’s species, size, age, and health.

The great lettuce debate

Both turtles have strong opinions. A new green may be ignored for days and then suddenly become a favorite. We offer suitable foods patiently and remove leftovers so the water stays clean.

  • Use portions suited to the turtle’s size.
  • Research safe greens before feeding.
  • Treats should remain treats.
  • Ask an experienced reptile veterinarian when in doubt.

Jack’s review of leafy greens is still pending. Charlie ate the evidence.
